Preparation!

Headshots are an actor's business card. They are the first thing that casting will see, so you need to make a strong first impression. Make them want to know more! How do you do that? By telling a story with each headshot!

It's all about preparation! Before your session, do some research (that's right, I'm giving you homework! - Watch series/movies and find the actors/characters that fit your archetypes and hone in on that style when choosing your looks. Ask friends/family to describe you in three words and put together some outfits that portray how they see you.

As actors, we know that the strongest way to tell a story solely through the eyes, is specificity. When standing in front of the camera, have some prompts ready to say to yourself in your mind that will inspire a natural expression. (i.e. I know something you don't know, I can't believe I trusted you, It's so good to see you again after all this time! Hearing "I love you" for the first time, Caught you red handed...and many many more!)

Come to the headshot session with clear and precise looks and emotions in mind, but be prepared to play around with it and have fun!
